Inspired by father Luc's personal and business achievements, Janet focused on receiving a strong education to serve as a solid foundation for her future. She attended Florida State University, Tallahassee and in 1981 graduated with a marketing degree.

In 1987, after several years in Texas working as an executive recruiter, Janet returned home to join Courchene Development Corporation. Determined to learn all stages of custom homebuilding and to contribute to Courchene's growth, Janet's keen marketing abilities proved a valuable asset towards company visibility and expansion.

Today, as Courchene Development 's Vice President and Principal, Janet assumed vast responsibilities within the company's team structured environment, including financial management, confirming and coordinating personal home selections, site coordination with the field and working directly with clients as a company liaison . Janet is also a Licensed Real Estate Broker.

Steadfast in her belief of building on relationships by listening first, Janet stresses the importance of constant communications and teamwork between builder and homeowner. This personal approach ensures an enjoyable construction experience and is one of the many elements that help define the
